4 Days Orangutan Houseboating Tour
For those who have a little more interest or a little more time on their hands, 4 Days Orangutan Tour Houseboating offers a great opportunity to see a little more of the Tanjung Puting National Park as well as enjoying the classic live aboard traveling method offering a safe and novel way to negotiate this notoriously difficult mangrove and jungle terrain.
Day 1 Arrive Pangkalan Bun - Tour
Your tour begins at the Pangkalan Bun Airport where you will be greeted by a representative who will be your acting tour guide and will take you along the coast to the nearby river taking you straight out of the developed world into the mangroves and jungles of Borneo. You will travel down the Seikonyer River which you will travel up for 2 hours before lunch onboard and then at 16.20 you will be able to view the incredible Proboscis monkeys which are almost unique to the island and provide great viewing on the way to camp Leakey in the Tanjung Puting National Park.
Day 2 Orangutan Tour
On the second day of 4 Days Orangutan Tour Houseboating will begin with breakfast onboard after you wake to the jungle passing by as well as the chance of seeing all types of animals on the way to Camp Leakey. On this trip you will hike to camp Leakey where you will find the main rehabilitation centre of the whole island for the resident Orangutan populations that are struggling to survive in the area. You will see the nurseries as well as the breeding programs as well as monitoring and rehabilitation programs which are taking place. Feeding times is at 14.00 which is a great time and then you will hike bake to the boat for sunset. After eating aboard the boat you will also sleep onboard before making the trip to the Tanjung Harapan Camp.
Day 3 Tour
After breakfast the nest day on the Orangutan Tour Houseboating 4D/3N you will begin heading back down stream to the camp of Tanjung Harapan which will take around 2 hours meaning that you will be able to enjoy most of the morning on land at the second largest Orangutan rehabilitation centre which focuses mainly on the nursery side of things with many baby and juvenile orangutans which are extremely cute to see and heart warming as well as listening to the stories of the events and projects that the Tanjung Harapan has endured. Here you will also have a chance to see the traditional villages with long houses located around this area. After a full day of exploring this cultural and beautiful as well as offering another great opportunity to spend some time with the orangutans and other wildlife of the area and then heading to Nipah Palm.
Day 4 - On day 4 of the 4 Days Orangutan Tour Houseboating you will wake and eat breakfast before heading back to Pangkalan Bun Airport ready for your next connection with plenty of experiences, photos and stories of your adventure.
